Sight impairment made Allisha a shy person when she was young, but she has pushed herself forward, grown into the role and now commands the reception area with confidence; getting first impressions right.”
For those considering a career in events, Allisha says,
“Keep flexible with a positive attitude as you may need to go the extra mile at any point in time. People usually appreciate when you’ve done more that your job description states and that makes the role more enjoyable. Also, put yourself in other people’s shoes sometimes and think about how they must feel if they’re in a different environment to their usual one and don’t know how things work. I’d want to be treated with respect and that’s what I try to achieve at all times.”
